Frequently asked questions

Why can different checks show different IP addresses?

VPNs, split tunneling, IPv4 and IPv6, carrier gateways and regional proxies can route individual destinations through different public exits.

What does a Steam timeout mean?

It only means the fixed Steam web endpoint did not complete this browser's opaque request before the limit. CORS policy, extensions, VPN routing or the endpoint itself can affect it; it does not prove that Steam login, downloads or game servers are down.

Are the CN and COM results measuring my local latency?

No. They show outbound HTTP checks run from Jemdo's regional servers and are kept as a collapsed comparison reference. Your browser-side checks are the primary view of your own route.

Does a green platform result mean every game server is healthy?

No. It only confirms that the browser reached a fixed public endpoint. Game UDP paths, login state, NAT type and regional matchmaking require deeper native or server-side tests.
